Central City Opera offers one of Central Colorado's premiere opera experiences in an intimate, newly restored jewel box theatre. The opera house is located in the Russel Gulch area of the town, just west of Black Hawk. In the past, the opera has hosted some of the great opera singers, including Lillian Gish in the role of Carmine, and Mae West performing an operatic rendition of "Diamond 'Lil".
